Jakobs Fine Jewelers & Gemstones are importers of Gemstones from around the world.

We will be glad to help you design your piece from our large seletion of Gemstones and set it in the metal or metals your choice. We use only the purest Platinum, Gold (14, 18, 22, or 24 kt), or Sterling Silver (Fine Silver is also available). And use the old style craftsmanship that seems to be lost in todays fast paced world. Time is on your side when working with one of our craftsman, who will listen and create that special "must have" piece you have been dreaming of. Something that says "LOOK AT ME" something to be proud of.

Your choice of Precious Gem Stones run the full spectrum from Sapphires of all colors, to Rubies, Emeralds, Diamonds and hot new Gemstones like Tanzanite, which is becoming very scarce. Many other choices are there for you too. Most pieces hand picked by our buyers imported just for us. Amethyst, Garnets (rhodolite, tsavorite to name two), Iolite, Citrine, Ametrine, Topaz (in a rainbow of colors), Opal's (with the fire of a Mexican sky to the blue waters of Australia) These are but a few of the types of gems that we carry. They can be cut in almost any style that your heart desires.

DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER
Diamonds are Forever, they tell someone special your love is eternal. Did you know Diamonds come in all the colors of the rainbow? We carry Diamonds that cover the spectrum from colorless to black. Yellow, Blue, Pink, Brown, Champagne, Green, Red, Lavender,... I could go on. You need to call to check what colors are available as they are all rare. Some fancy colors can retail for prices that would make you shake, but there are some colors that are very common and we have pricing to make most everyone happy. Try one in something simple and see the reactions you recieve from friends and family, make a statement.

Remember what you are looking for in a Diamond, is to follow the 4-C's.

Color (body color)

Clarity (degree of flawlessness)

Cutting and proportions (often called the "make")

Carat weight (whats it weigh)

We feel the most important of all, in terms of beauty, would be cutting. If a stone is "made" with the correct proportions it will have a fire that will leap out at you. Size is great (wow its 2 cts.) but the stone could just sit on your hand, lifeless. But lets say a perfectly made 1 ct. (half the size), with the right cut, jumps out at you. Which one will your friends remember (and how will they remember it)?
Requests are welcome at any time

Looking for that special something, but don't know what it is. We've never heard that before! Well thats what we're here for. Ask and we will help you recieve, just at a great price. We loved helping people in the trade help their customers for years. Now its time we help the customers and save them money in the process. We are the importers. Comming to us is like going to a different country and shopping, except we do the traveling and you save time and money.

For years we would work with the "trade", my girls told me "Dad it's time we offered our services to the public. We should cut out the middle man and bring beautiful jewelry, at wholesale prices to everyone".

So here we are! We're following their advice, and we are able to do almost anything you request. We enjoy working with you on that special something that you have been dreaming of. We can help to make your dream become a reality. This is what we love about our work. Finding the right stone and setting to complete that dream.

Please Excuse our Work in Progress
We have grown so fast this year, after opening our doors to the retail public it was time to redo our website. I am in the process of revamping our site so you can access more product and soon design online with one of our setters directly. This will give you real time access to our inventory by requesting to see specific stones that before were too numerous to show.

Very soon we will have the ability to accept payment online in the most secure way possible. We were uncomfortable before doing this, but now security has been improved to point that even I use my card online.

Any requests you might have please E-Mail me at the link below and I will see what I can do to grant them for you.

Making a Difference
(From letters to the editor NJ Star Ledger)

As the stories of the victims of the horrific catastrophe of Sept 11 are being told. I am struck by a phrase that I have heard so many of their loved ones utter: "He just wanted to make a difference."

Every one of them has indeed made a difference.

They have transcended race, color, creed and gender. They have brought out the best in their fellow Americans. They have rallied us, stiffened our spines and filled us with resolve. They have brought together a divided nation, and have shown the world that when terrorism happens to some of us, it happens to all of us. They have shown that we are indeed the United States of America.

We share the sorrow and grief because their loved ones have become our loved ones. Their families are our families. We shall never forget what happened to them. Nor shall we forget their courage and dignity.

Their sacrifices will not have been in vain. They will be our inspiration as our country begins its mission to eradicate the plague of terror. Yes, they've made a difference. They are Heroes!

Emeralds Gemstone of Kings
Emeralds known as the Gemstone of Kings, this goes back to time forgotten. Emeralds are mined in only a few places in the world. Gem quality can be found in Zambia, Brazil, India, Colombia & The United States (only North Carolina). It's found with many other gems Quartz, Amythest, Beryl, Chromium to name a few. In fact Emerald is but Beryl colored with Chromium with a lot of help from mother nature. It is the green varity and one of the rarest members. Only red Beryl (sometimes called red emerald) is rarer.

Colombia alone (producer of the finest Emeralds) accounts for roughly 60 percent of the worlds annual yield that in total is too small to fill up the shallow end of a swimming pool. Of that quanity only a small portion is considered gem quality.

Emeralds have a color that is almost impossible to describe. It is a green like grass with almost a blue hue to it. Fine heirloom Emeralds can be passed down from generation to generation. They have a look all to themselves their "flaws" are what give them their own character a type of fingerprint. The opposite of Diamonds inclusions in emeralds are common, the one thing you should try to avoid are the black spots (pique') they have tendency to darken an emerald.
